I used to think that if I just thought a little longer and worked a little harder, crammed in one more activity, or gained enough education or information, I could find all the answers and get everything finished--then it would be my turn to rest, relax and enjoy my life.

I tried so many things to help me do this--more caffeine, more stimulating entertainment, alcohol and other drugs, therapy, TV, Facebook, healthy eating, chocolate, more research and knowledge, another degree, and the list goes on!

I not only thought I had to do it alone, but if I couldn't, there was something really, really wrong with me.

It's hard to believe that today I mostly live a vibrant, inspired and love-filled life with great energy levels and more time to do the things that bring pleasure and peace to myself and others. Not to say that my life is perfect bliss--but I've learned  new ways of relating to and navigating through the inevitable difficulties of a human life. Not only that,  I now have greater resources to help me through the really difficult times like we're facing today.

My mind is clearer and more calm. I'm more present in my life and I get things done in a balanced and sometimes even joyful way. My actions are more purposeful and effective without the overwhelming confusion I used to experience.

Plus, my relationships are based on genuine love, appreciation and meaning. I am less reactive in difficult situations and can engage in more honest, heart-centered communication.

I have far more freedom to choose my response to what life serves up on a moment by moment basis!

How did I get here? Simple yet powerful tools that helped lift me out of a painful cycle of out-of-control reactivity, crippling anxiety and fear, and scattered thinking.
